Should I accept higher salary in the same company after sending resignation letter

0 votes
I am working in a company for 3 years. I have always been among the top 5 performers in my team. Recently my team got a hike but I was not satisfied with mine. I went to my manager and told him that I deserved a higher salary (in a professional way). He said that he could not give me a higher salary. I had an offer from another company with a better salary so I sent my resignation to my manager. The next day my manager came to me and told that he would increase my salary. After the negotiation and submitting resignation, should I accept the salary and stay?

If your manager came back to you with a higher salary then it clearly means that you are valuable to the organization. Though your submission of resignation would have brought a bump, if you are valuable to the organization, there's a chance that you can have a good career there. If you have been one of the top performers then you might have higher chances of promotions too. And also, you have worked here for quite some time, so there's a trust factor between you and the organization. I suggest you continue working here.

Yes, I think you should stay back. You might not get a salary as high as the other company is offering you but money is not the only thing that matters. You have worked in this company for 3 years, you have a recognition here. The organization trusts you and this might result in you getting promotions. So, I suggest you stay back.

Yes, I think you should. They are agreeing to scale up your pay because you've become an asset to them.
