Gap in experience

I'm 43 , I have experience of ten years in customer care but I have been unable to work since may 2014 as I did some business ventures and then got caught up in a lengthy divorce case, now I'm thinking of getting back to work but I'm worried how to get a job due to my lengthy gap in work experience, any suggestions would be useful
