I have been working in sales for 3 years. I have completely engineering but ended up in sales. I am interested in development. Is there any scope for me in technical field?

Yes, there's always scope in it. I have seen people who have been working in a non-technical field for over 5-10 years and then switch to technical field. You can start with joining a course, get certified and then look for jobs. Most of the teaching institutes and tied up with IT companies which will be helpful to get a job. You can even attend walk-in interviews but the chances of getting hired without any course are low.

Hi,

It is okay if you want to switch your career, choosing your domain is all up to you. But let me tell you, the competition outside the market is really tough. Though you have work experience, the culture and the work environment will be different in IT firms. If you are determined to shift to technical zone, I would suggest you please, try taking up training or course on upcoming technology in some institution where they can provide reference based job as well. Many institutions have a tie-up with companies so that it will be a step easier for the candidates to search for a job.

You can do any external specialized technical sources such as Java, Sap, Python, etc from industry recognized institutes or websites, they can give you a stand to sit for interviews for a IT Job.

It would be difficult to get immediate calls for a technical job but improving your technical skills will fetch you jobs. You can send your resume to different jobs through indeed, monster, etc. Companies also provide training people within company for exact requirements so have a touch of basic technical skills for the job.
