Does DevOps need programming knowledge If yes then which language I should learn as a beginner

As such you don't need any programming language to learn DevOps. Some basic knowledge of Linux, python, shell scripting will be ok. When you start to learn DevOps tools, then you get to know which language is used for which tool. For example, the Jenkins tool is used Groovy as a scripting language. So when you start with Jenkins that time you need to learn Groovy syntax.

This programming language came into the picture in 1980 and by 2020 is the best choice for many applications such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and the Internet of Things. The python has many standard libraries for different applications is the de-facto standard, so that you need not have to rewrite many codes available in python again. Python consists of vast libraries in itself. Thus it is preferred over many languages by the programmers. Also, it has become a very important language for DevOps engineers and Architects.

learning the development languages involved in DevOps is  Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Go, and C.
