Are project managers depending too much on technology

Recently I gave a Project Management class that focused on the leadership qualities and through Q&A I found a lot more Project Managers seen to lean on Software vs. leadership & soft skills.

What are your thoughts?

The rapid advancements in the field of Artificial Intelligence have given birth to some great software tools which help in Project management.

And yet, it can't be a swap for a Project Manager. He/She assumes an exceptionally enormous function in running an Project.

I think a mix of PM+Software will be a solid match.
