Will Prince 2 certification help me in moving to project management role

I needed to work in the field of project management and I got an opportunity to deal with a project.

As I am not yet meeting the requirement of PMP, will a prince 2 certification help me in the future to move in the field of project management?

Indeed you can go for PRINCE2 foundation certification until further notice and once qualified for PMP ensure you apply for the equivalent. Prince2 is more of a guideline whereas PMP offers an in-depth study of end to end Project management processes with various tools and techniques.

Lastly, everything boils down to application of your knowledge.
