What should I tell the recruiters when asked about why I quit my job

0 votes

I am working in an IT company and there is too much pressure and partiality. Even after I am assigned more work than others, when I complete it within the deadline, I get yelled by my boss. So, I have decided to quit this job. But I am worried about what should I answer when recruiters ask me why I quit the job.

One thing that recruiters like in Candidates is honesty. Be honest, tell them the situation that made you quit but in a positive way. Along with telling the actual facts, add to it that you are looking for a positive environment to showcase your skills and improve them. I don't think telling the truth to the recruiters would affect the chances of you being hired.

Tell them the truth. You did not leave the company for a silly reason. You left it because of the work environment that was harming you. So, explain the situation. Most of the times, when recruiters ask you why you quit your job, it is just to understand about your attitude towards work. You quit your job does not mean you did something wrong. Quitting job for a silly or a stupid reason would affect on your impression in front of the recruiter but when it is a genuine reason then it is fine. And until and unless you have good skills and you are good at your job, quitting job would not matter much.

Hey,

As you have mentioned that you were in a bad environment and the work culture was not good, so mention that but try to tell in a subtle manner. If you were assigned with too much of work, I would say it was for your own benefit. You can mention that also but, try to mention in such a way where it should not look insulting your last company. Try to balance your way of an answer so that the interviewer should understand you have respect for everything, but just you need a good growth and work environment to choose once you get the experience.
