Which is better path to choose Networking or Web Development as a Mechanical Engg

I am a mechanical engineer wanting to switch to IT, As a beginner which path is good to choose for better job security and job openings, Networking field (i.e., CCNA)  or programming field (i.e., Web development, software dev )

Hello @kartik,

I believe Web development is better area as it has a lot of room for growing while in networking a junior can easily reach to your level or at least to the level where he/she can do satisfactory work, which is also the reason web developers are paid better as well.

On the other hand, there are many opportunities for a web developer such as more job openings are of web development as compare to networking. Each company has many web developers while networking personnel is very few 1 or 2. Apart from all those benefits you can also learn different technologies for increasing your worth as you grow senior.
