CRITICAL nova - RequiredOptError value required for option lock path

Question

Hi Guys,

I tried to start openstack-nova-api service. But I am facing error.

$ openstack-nova-api start
Starting openstack-nova-api: [FAILED]

The error log /var/log/nova/api.log reveled the below message.

CRITICAL nova [-] RequiredOptError: value required for option: lock_path

How can I solve this error?

Hi@akhtar,

To avoid this error you have to uncomment the lock_path in nova.conf file.

$ open /etc/nova/nova.conf 

And uncomment ‘lock_path‘ : lock_path=/var/lib/nova/tmp. Save the file and start the service.
