What is Inbound and Outbound rule in aws

Hi everyone,

Can anybody tell me what are inbound rule and outbound rule in aws? How it works?

Hi@akhtar,

Inbound means incoming traffic coming to your EC2 instances. For that you have to add inbound rule. For web server generally we use port 80.

Outbound means outgoing traffic from your EC2 instances. To connect internet or any browser you have to add outbound rule.

1.you gave example for outbound rule that to connect internet or any browser you have to add outbound rule

2.but for the inbound rule i want example will you please give me???

Hi@nani,

The inbound rule means incoming traffic. Say you have an EC2 instance. Now you want to do SSH into the instance. For that, you need to add one inbound rule on port 22.
