What can you offer us that someone else cannot

Hi,

At the end of my interview session, the interviewer asked me that" What can you offer us that someone else cannot?" I answered in a very common way that, I can be hardworking and dedicated to my work. But I guess that did not work, because I got rejected somehow. Can anyone suggest a better way to handle this question?

Hey,

There will be a point in the mid of your interview, where your interviewer has already asked you about your strengths. Then asking this question means he/she would like an answer that is more specific to your job. This answer will help the interviewer to compare what you bring to. 

You can prepare your answer by listing your strengths and connect them to the requirements mentioned in the job profile. You can say " I have already mentioned my strengths, but if you were to ask me something unique which I ring, I would say It's my attention to detail. Though it sounds wired, this strategy of mine has saved several situations.

Answer the question, What can you offer them in terms of skills and experience that other candidates cannot? That's what any job comes down to.

What skill set and experience do you bring to the table that makes you a better candidate then any other? Time to sell yourself if you want the job.
