A cloud software engineer needs to have the skill sets as

One should have Knowledge in at least one public cloud service - Amazon Web Services (AWS), MS Azure, IBM, Google Cloud, Oracle, VMware etc.

One should have some Professional level experience programming/scripting in C/C++, Java, Javascript, Python.

One should also be well versed with Shell Scripting.

One should also be well versed in various operating systems like Linux, Windows, Mac and/or CentOS.

Skills required for a Cloud Software Engineer are as follows:-

1. You’ve 0-2 years of experience building web applications in high level programming languages - Node.js, PHP, Python, Ruby, Go. We code primarily in Node.js, so you’ll be excited to either ramp up on that or continue building awesome things with it.

2. You possess strong Computer Science fundamentals - Algorithms, Databases, Networking and Distributed systems.

3. You write testable, maintainable code that’s easy to understand.

4. You are a good communicator who can explain technical concepts to product managers, designers, support and other engineers.

5. You have curiosity about how things work.
