Increasing the shm size of a kubernetes container

The default shm size of 64m is not specified anywhere, but you can increase that in docker using:

--shm-size=256m

How can I do the same for a container inside a kubernetes pod?

You cannot achieve this in kubernetes pod. Check this issue out. There's a workaround, but it may not be exactly what you're looking for.
