Recommender System on Cloud Platform

I ve been impressed how data science works. And I want to build a recommender system using cloud platform, is that possible, if yes what would be the best way to approach it?

Yes it pretty much possible to do the same. Try Microsoft Azure and use Azure ML Studio. You will have access to quite a few sample Data sets and algorithms. You may use the one that already exist or create newer ones if that may suit you.
