I have an Excel 2010 document with a metric number (2413mm) in column A. I need the formula to convert 2413mm to feet or inches in the following format: (7' 11").

I can accomplish this if I divide 2413 into three or four columns, extract the feet and inches into two different columns, and then combine the individual feet and inches into a single cell.

I really want to be able to complete all of this inside one cell.

## 1 answer to this question.

If you want the answer to be accurate to the nearest inch, try this version. I see that Gary's Student's Answer will give you decimals in inches.

=INT(ROUND(A1*0.03937,0)/12)&"' "&MOD(ROUND(A1*0.03937,0),12)&""""
