Excel COUNTIFS with merged cell

Question

There are three topics on my excel sheet: customer, data, and product. I tried using the "COUNTIFS" method to figure out how many products there are for each customer, but because the customer row is merged, it doesn't work. Please, could you assist me with this. Excel document is provided.

Although it is strongly advised to stay away from merged cells when performing formula-based calculations. It creates far too many issues. You can still use some strategies to succeed. You might try the formula below for your situation:

=COUNTIFS(INDIRECT("C"&MATCH($F2,$A:$A,0)&":C"&MATCH($F2,$A:$A,0)+5),G$1)
