How to use status folder for WhatsApp status saver app in android 11 scoped storage

Hey everyone, I created an app that saves your WhatsApp status. However, Google implemented scoped storage in Android 11, thus I'm no longer able to access the user's state in the app. I've used MANAGE EXTERNAL STORAGE for that, however I'm unable to publish the app to Google Play using this. A few apps that I've seen have used permissions to get access to the.status folder. How do you do that? I've included a screenshot of the app's request for permission. Please assist me; I'm just starting out.
