How to get landmarks from current location using google map in iphone

The latitude and longitude of my present location are inputs for an application I'm building. I'm curious to know if using Google Maps, I can obtain information about surrounding landmarks, including their corresponding latitudes and longitudes, by entering my present location's latitude and longitude. Please share a similar service if you are aware of one. We'll be grateful for it. Thank you in advance!

You can achieve this by saving several landmarks in advance, and when the user gets close to that area, it indicates which landmark is nearby.
