How do you describe production in terms of project and project management?

Answer 1

Production is the end state for project deliverables which have been transitioned to the customer. The product leads to deliverables that goes into operations and production that in turn provide value to customers.

Projects can lead to production. Production can lead to additional projects such as developing the production system itself and optimizing it via processes like Six Sigma, cost improvements, time savings, etc.
