What is the difference between hashing and encryption process

I am learning about Blochchain and I see a lot of "hashing" word used. I know a little about encryption and both hashing and encryption look the same to me. Are the same? If not, how are they different?

Hashing and encryption are both used to encode data to provide security.

How is hashing and encryption different?

When a data is encrypted and the data is encoded, this data can be decoded using the decryption process. So, encryption is reversible. 

But hashing is a one-way thing. Once a data is hashed, then the original data cannot be obtained from the hashed data
