Key error in Python

Question

When I run the following code :

path = meta_entry['path'].strip('/'),

I am gettin the following error :

KeyError: 'variablename'

Can anyone explain Why?

A KeyError occurs when the Key doesn't exist so you much check if path key exists or not.

Print the content of meta_entry and for the existence of path.
