Hi guys
I am getting involved in an R&D project which is related to the automotive industry and now I have a question :
is scrum just for software development or it can be used to other types of project developments?
Thanks for your guidance.

Scrum is not solely for software development. It is simply a framework for developing, delivering, and sustaining complex projects.

Scrum can be used for any activity that is suited to teamwork and iterative or incremental delivery. According to the authors of the scrum, it is already used to build cars and also to run laundry, teach students in a classroom, make spacecraft, plan a wedding, and manage payroll.

According to the Scrum Guide, a Scrum Master is “a facilitator for the team and the product owner. Rather than manage the team, the scrum masterworks to assist both the scrum team and the product owner.”

You can refer to this playlist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbCvs-60ytM&list=PL9ooVrP1hQOF1nCUBIFxOSD80UYSsx4vq to know everything about Scrum Master.

While Scrum is widely used in software development, it is not only for IT. You can use it widely for other industries like Automotive Production especially if you combine it with Kanban so you basically use Scrumban.

Hope this helps!

Thanks!
