I have to well verse with Hadoop in a week and should be able to write applications. Ready to put extra efforts.

Hi!

Since you have only 6 weeks, it's pointless to go for a course. Big Data stack has few very important tools that you should know about:

1. MapReduce
2. Pig
3. Hive 
4. Hbase
5. Cassandra
6. Apache Storm
7. Apache Solr
8. Spark
9. Flume 
10. Kafka
11. Scoop

Start studying about each tool individually, practice a few demos to hands-on experience. Once you are done practicing every tool, comes the most important part.

Integrating all these tools and using them together to solve a big data problem. Focus a lot on this integration part.
