How to combine your data or tables in Power BI

Power BI includes Query Editor which is a powerful tool for shaping and transforming data. With the help of query editor you can merge tables, columns and also append them.

We can combine our data using Query Editor in Power BI in two different ways:

1. Merge Queries
2. Append Queries

Merging Data:

• Merge Query is a type of combining queries which is based on matching rows rather than columns
• A new column is created at the end of the query which is the contents of the table that was merged with the existing query

Appending Data

• You can use the append queries tool to add the data from a new table to an existing query.
•  It also allows you to turn multiple tables into a single table that contains just the data you want
