Is it late to learn coding I am 40 years old

0 votes
I am 40 years old now and I have been marketing and sales for the last 20 years. I met a nephew of mine who is a Software Engineer and he was telling me about software coding and freelancing. For a guy with 20 years of experience, I think I am earning less than what i should and I don't want to go around switching companies because I have a good reputation in the company I am working right now. My question is, is it late for me to start learning coding and do freelancing?

Its never too late to be what you might have been! It is never too late for a new beginning!

No, it is not late to start learning how to code. You can start by watching videos online, reading books on programming. It'll take some time to start with the freelancing thing but yes, it is possible.

Hey,

No, you are not too old to learn programming. If you wonder if you are too old to become a professional software developer and are under the age of 50, the answer is still no. Programming is one of these things that no matter how old you are, if you get good at it, nothing can stop you. A lot of it is done remotely, so people won’t even know how old you are unless you tell them. And even if you do tell them, your age and past experiences will work in your favor - you can always turn them into advantages.
