The pydoc -k flag searches the documentation.

pydoc -k <keyword>
    Search for a keyword in the synopsis lines of all available modules.
From a terminal, run..

$ pydoc -k pdf
..for example:

$ pydoc -k pdf
PdfImagePlugin
wx.lib.pdfwin
PIL.PdfImagePlugin
