What is the difference between Pipeline and Release Pipeline in azure devops

If you select the following option, a YAML file is created:

You may describe the full deployment cycle in this yaml file, starting with restore, building, running tests, publishing, and then deploying to an Azure App Service Web App.

So why is there a releases option? What use does the Pipelines -> Releases option serve if I can design a whole lifecycle using the Pipelines -> Pipelines option?
