Hi, @There,
What type of analyst would you like to be? A data analyst? A financial analyst? A management consultant analyst?
- If you’re interested in data science, I’d highly suggest learning an additional data visualization tool like Tableau. That would open up more of a data analyst/business intelligence role.
- If you’re interested in Finance, you’ll be perfectly fine with just Excel and SQL. But make sure you are an absolute animal in Excel.
- If you’re interested in management consulting, you’ll just need to be competent in all of Microsoft Office. You’ll be prepping a ton of PPT decks and using Excel for ad hoc work.
If you’re headed towards an Excel-heavy industry, learn how to build clean, automated models. And most importantly learn how to use Excel without a mouse. You’ll boost your speed 3–5X.
Hope this helps!
