What are the pros and cons of working as computer hardware engineer?

Every job profile has its pros and cons, now you have to decide whether the pros overcome the cons in your situation or not. I'll put down a few pros and cons and then you decide for yourself

pros:

• This is a good job profile if you like to solve problems as this job profile revolves around problem-solving.
• Gives good job security
• Mostly working in-doors
• Gives decent pay

Cons:

• Growth might be very limited
• Need continuous studying and knowledge of upcoming technologies
• Difficult to get into this career
• Long hours of working

I don't see any cons for a person who is interested in Hardware. I have been working as a Computer Hardware engineer for the past 3 years and I took up this job because I was interested in this field. I have never regretted it and I have not found any cons as such. It's a good role with good pay.

High pay, can work in various fields of IT and non-IT, mostly requires only Bachelor's degree to get an entry level job.

Cons

The growth is slow compared to other roles. Requires continuous up-skilling
