To get the file extension, we can use FilenameUtils.getExtension() method from Apache Commons IO.

String f1 = FilenameUtils.getExtension("file1.txt"); // returns "txt"
String f2 = FilenameUtils.getExtension("file2.exe"); // returns "exe"
