I would like to divide this set of numbers into 4 parts/columns in excel so that their sum is as close as possible to 1/4 of the value of all numbers

5049 is the sum of all numbers, and 1/4 of that is 1262.25. Is that what you're looking for?

After being numerically sorted and added to columns, all those numbers almost exactly equaled one-fourth of the total.
