Javascript require function giving ReferenceError require is not defined

0 votes

Essentially, I'm using javascript to scrape data from the Google Play store by:

1-Request

2-Cheerios

3-QueryString

I used Google Market API from Github which uses require as following:

var request   = require('request');
var cheerio   = require('cheerio');
var qs      = require('querystring');

However, I am receiving the following

ReferenceError: require does not exist...

So I don't have need in javascript, which is either new to me or out of the usual.
