When it comes to CSS, what's the difference between position: relative and position: absolute? When should you use them?

position: relative moves an element relative to its current position without affecting the layout around it, whereas position: absolute moves an element relative to its current location. position: absolute moves an element relative to its parent's position, altering the layout.
