Performing LEFT OUTER minus INNER JOIN in Tableau

0 votes
I have a need that requires me to LEFT OUTER JOIN minus INNER JOIN two data sources in Tableau.

What is the best way to do this in Tableau at the data source? Tableau only supports the following joins: inner, left, right, and full outer.

If you're using Tableau Desktop, you may create a datasource filter that uses the second data source's join key.

1. From source1 to source2, create a left join.
2. Create a new datasource filter for source2.join key by going to the "Condition" tab, selecting "By formula," and using "ISNULL([source2.join key])" as the formula.
