Query Power
Power Query is an Excel add-in that allows users to perform self-service ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tasks. It enables users to extract data from a variety of sources, edit it into a format that matches their needs, and then import it into Excel.
Pivot Point
Power Pivot is an in-memory data-modeling component that allows for highly compressed data storage as well as lightning-fast aggregation and calculation. It's also included in Excel and can be used to create a data model within a spreadsheet. Power Pivot may load data on its own or with the help of Power Query. It's very comparable to the SSAS Tabular model (SQL Server Analysis Services), which is a server-based version of Power Pivot.
Viewpoint of Influence
Power View is an interactive visualisation application that allows users to create quick and easy visualisations of data in their Excel spreadsheets using a drag-and-drop interface (using the Power Pivot data model).
Power BI is a business intelligence tool that allows you to
Power BI is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) that allows users to manage their own business intelligence needs. It has the ability to connect to SaaS providers like Salesforce and others right out of the box. It uses a combination of direct query and periodic data refreshes to connect to on-premises and cloud sources. It is offered as a freemium option.
It replaces 'Power BI for Office 365,' which was based on Microsoft's Office 365 and SharePoint Online products, and includes Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power View through Excel 2013.
Power BI (with O365 and SharePoint Online) provides a site where users can upload and share their created content with other users, as well as manage gateways into enterprise data sources, enable data refresh, and advanced features like Q&A, which allows users to query data models using natural language.
Microsoft has also launched a separate Power BI Desktop programme, which combines Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power View into a single software, removing the Excel 2013 constraint. Power BI Desktop is a free download.
If cloud-based Power BI is not an option for you, you can still get a lot of the capability by using on-premise SQL Server 2012+, Excel 2010+, and SharePoint 2010+.
