I am preparing for my job interview and if I am asked the question that "What was a difficult situation in your last project and what did you do to overcome it"?

How would you answer in a concise and convincing way?

I would make sure that I chose such a difficult situation that had been successfully resolved. Then I would briefly describe the difficulties, approach, and means that worked to resolve the situation. I would emphasize lessons learned to avoid such a situation in the future.

However, the interviewers are usually trying to evaluate your ability to adapt to stress and to resolve issues. The answer is not as important as your reasoning behind it.
