ERROR org apache hadoop hbase ipc ServerNotRunningYetException Server is not running yet

Question

I am getting the below error, when I tried to run any command in Hbase Shell.

How Can I solve this error?

Hi@akhtar,

This error occurs if the hbase server is not able to access to read hdfs server. Before starting Hbase server, make sure your hdfs cluster is in running state. Also, check if your hdfs cluster is in safemode state. To leave from safemode state use the below given command.

$ hadoop dfsadmin -safemode leave
