Internships are mostly for freshers and yes you don't need to have any certification. You just need to have knowledge on how cloud works and what are the different architecture required for AWS Cloud.

You also must have a descent programming ability and good understanding of networking.

That's pretty much you need to know when applying for an Internship.

Yes, you can get internships even though you don't have a certification. Generally internships are done during the 6th semester, students at this point may have a certification but that's rare. Generally, students have basic idea about AWS and they grow interest in the topic and go for internship. So, yes you can do internship without certification.
