Open password protected Excel spreadsheet with UiPath

0 votes
I was wondering if anyone had succeeded in opening a password protected XL spreadsheet with UiPath.

I tried using "Open Workbook" and entering the password in the password field ... but that didn't work.

I tried using Open Application ... but I can't seem to talk to the password dialogue box.

Update the Excel Activities. Use the new Excel Application Scope. Set the password property.

This doesn't work that way, tested it in versions from 2018.2.2 to 2018.4.1 still if you set the password correctly and open excel , do some actions there like, click menus, color sells etc.. then if you use save workbook activity it doesn't save the file....

Want to open Excel, the first thing to consider is to remove Excel protection password is not it? If you are using Older Versions, you can solve the problem of unlocking the Excel password by using File Extension, VBA Code, and VBA Project. Here are the steps for the VBA code:
1. Open the Excel > shortcut "Alt + F11" to open the VBA Editor > right click on Excel File > Insert > Module in the Project-VBAProject pane.
2. Enter the following VBA code into the General window.

3. Click the Run button to run it > Pop up the password consisting of the letters A and B.
