                  • PMP Exam Fee: The exam fee also depends on whether you are a PMI member or a non-member. For PMI members, the PMP exam fee is approximately $405, while for non-members, it is around $555.
                  • PMI Membership Fee: Becoming a PMI member is not mandatory but can provide benefits such as discounted exam fees and access to additional resources. The membership fee for joining PMI is around $139.
Please note that these figures are subject to change, and it is advisable to refer to the official PMI website for the most up-to-date information regarding the PMP certification cost.

Yes, you can do the PMP certification online. The Project Management Institute (PMI) offers an online testing option for the PMP exam due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This allows candidates to take the exam remotely at their convenience, 24/7, without having to go to a testing center. The online exam has the same format and rigor as the in-person exam. However, certain rules and requirements apply, including a suitable testing environment and adequate computer equipment. Always check the latest updates on the PMI official website.

The PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is widely considered the best certification for project management. It is globally recognized, highly regarded by employers, and validates a comprehensive understanding of project management principles, practices, and methodologies. The PMP certification offers a robust framework and a wide range of knowledge that equips professionals with the necessary skills to effectively lead and manage projects of varying sizes and complexities.
To qualify for the PMP (Project Management Professional) certification, you need to meet certain requirements set by the Project Management Institute (PMI). Here are the key PMP certification requirements:
                  1. Education: You must have a secondary degree (high school diploma, associate's degree, or global equivalent) or a four-year degree (bachelor's degree or global equivalent) from an accredited institution.
                  2. Project Management Experience: You need to demonstrate project management experience. For individuals with a secondary degree, you should have at least five years (60 months) of non-overlapping project management experience, with a minimum of 7,500 hours leading and directing projects. If you have a four-year degree, the requirement is at least three years (36 months) of non-overlapping project management experience, with a minimum of 4,500 hours leading and directing projects.
                  3. Project Management Education: In addition to project management experience, you must complete 35 hours of formal project management education. This requirement can be fulfilled through various PMP training programs, courses, or educational activities that focus on project management principles, practices, and processes.
                  4. Application and Exam: You need to submit a PMP certification application to PMI, providing details of your project management experience and education. Once your application is approved, you can schedule and take the PMP certification exam. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions that assess your understanding of project management concepts, processes, and best practices.
According to the common belief, 61% is the minimum Passing Score for PMP. It's determined through a psychometric analysis, which makes it a bit complicated. You should aim to answer at least 80-85% of the questions correctly to increase your chances of passing.
PMI typically administers exams through a center-based testing (CBT). However, in certain exceptional circumstances, paper-based testing (PBT) is available, with more details in the "Examination Administration" section below.

The PMP certification exam consists of a total of 180 multiple-choice questions. Interestingly, 5 of these questions are pretest ones and do not impact your final score. Their main purpose is to assess the validity of these questions for potential use in future exams. All 180 questions are distributed randomly throughout the exam.

Here's a quick breakdown of the exam:
                  • Total Questions: 180
                  • Scored Questions: 175
                  • Pretest (Unscored) Questions: 5
                  • Allotted Time for the Exam: 230 Minutes

For the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, the Project Management Institute (PMI) requires that your project experience documents be verified by a supervisor, manager, or someone with an active PMP certification.

The best way to send audit documents to PMI® (Project Management Institute) is through their designated online portal or system. Visit the PMI® website, log in to your account, follow the instructions provided for document submission, and upload the required audit documents electronically.

If you do not meet the audit requirements for the PMP® Exam, the consequences may include rejection of your application, further review or verification by PMI® (Project Management Institute), request for additional documentation, or potential disqualification from taking the exam.

The fees for the PMP® Exam are typically required to be paid before the audit process.
If you are unable to take the PMP® Exam on the scheduled date, you can request a refund from PMI® by contacting them at [customercare(at)pmi(dot)org] at least 30 days before your exam eligibility expires. PMI® will refund your fee, deducting a $100 processing charge. It is important to adhere to the specified timeline and follow PMI®'s instructions for refund requests.

You can attempt the PMP® exam up to three times within your one-year eligibility period.
The time it takes to prepare for the PMP (Project Management Professional) exam can vary widely based on your prior experience, familiarity with the material, study habits, and the PMP course training or method you choose. On average, it can take between two to four months of study, assuming you spend around 15-20 hours per week. This includes going through the PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) Guide, other study materials, completing practice questions, and reviewing difficult concepts. Keep in mind that this is an average estimate and the actual time may vary for each individual. Once you pass the exam, it generally takes six weeks to receive the official certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI®).
The PMP® Certification is valid for a period of three years.

To maintain the PMP® certification, you are required to earn a total of 60 Professional Development Units (PDUs) within a three-year certification cycle.
The PMI audit process typically takes a minimum of five working days to review and approve your PMP application. They conduct random audits by verifying the provided details and references. Once your application is approved, you will have one year to pay the required fee and schedule your PMP exam.

To be eligible for the PMP Certification exam, you typically need:
                    • A secondary degree (high school diploma, associate's degree, or the global equivalent) with at least five years of project management experience, including 7,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.
                    OR

                    • A four-year degree (bachelor's degree or the global equivalent) with at least three years of project management experience, including 4,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.
It's also important to note that the Project Management Institute (PMI) can change eligibility requirements, so always check the latest from the official PMI website.

After completing your PMP training, you can schedule your PMP examination through the Prometric testing center. Visit the Prometric website or contact their customer service to find a convenient testing location and available dates. You will need your eligibility ID, which you received from the Project Management Institute (PMI®) upon approval, to schedule the exam. Select a suitable date and location, pay the exam fee, and confirm your appointment.

You have the flexibility to reschedule or cancel your online proctored test or CBT exam up to 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. However, please note that due to limited seating capacity, late rescheduling or cancellations will incur a fee. It is advisable to reschedule or cancel your exam as soon as you become aware that you won't be able to make the appointment. Kindly read the following policy carefully.

                    • Rescheduling or Cancelling Within 30 Days of Your Appointment:
If you choose to reschedule or cancel your exam within 30 days of your scheduled appointment, a fee of US$70 will be charged. This fee is applicable when you reschedule or cancel your exam on Pearson VUE's website within the 30-day period. The US$70 charge will be displayed as a Pearson VUE charge on your credit card.

The 30-day period does not include the day of the exam appointment. For instance, if your exam is scheduled for May 5th, you must reschedule or cancel the exam on or before April 4th to avoid the fee.

In emergency situations where you are unable to change your exam appointment before 30 days of your appointment, the Extenuating Circumstance Policy may apply. PMI will assess these situations on a case-by-case basis to determine if a refund of the rescheduling fee is warranted.

                    • Rescheduling or Cancelling Within 48 Hours of Your Appointment:
You must reschedule or cancel your appointment at least 48 hours before your exam appointment (local time). If you wait until you are within 48 hours of your appointment, you will be unable to cancel your appointment and will forfeit the entire exam fee if you do not show up. At this point, rescheduling will not be possible, and you will need to pay reexamination fees to schedule a new exam.
To reschedule or cancel your appointment, log in to PMI.org and go to Review Application Status under myPMI. Click Reschedule Exam or Cancel Exam, which will redirect you to schedule your exam through Pearson VUE.

The following steps will guide you through the process:

When you access your Pearson VUE account, you will find your exam listed under Upcoming Appointment. Select the scheduled exam.
Review the current appointment details, and you will see options to reschedule or cancel your appointment.

Please note: If you wish to change your exam delivery type (e.g., from center-based test to online proctored test or vice versa), you need to cancel your existing appointment first and then schedule the exam again. The cancellation policy still applies.
If you are within 48 hours of your examination appointment, you will be unable to cancel or reschedule your appointment, and failing to show up will result in the forfeiture of the entire exam fee.
Sending emails to Pearson VUE or PMI is not an acceptable method for rescheduling or canceling your examination appointment.

If you encounter any issues with internet connectivity or face difficulties while rescheduling or canceling your examination online, please contact Pearson VUE directly to make the necessary changes. The contact telephone numbers for all Pearson VUE Service Centers can be found in your Examination Scheduling Instructions provided in the handbook. Do not call the testing site to reschedule or cancel the examination.

No, it's not a necessity to have a PMP certification when you're just starting your career in project management. Initially, gaining hands-on experience and understanding the basics of project management can be more valuable. However, a PMP certification can be an asset as you progress in your career and want to stand out in the field.
Yes, PMP certification does require renewal every three years. This is done by earning 60 professional development units (PDUs) within that three-year period to maintain the status of your certification.
A PMP Bootcamp is an intensive, short-term PMP training course designed to prepare individuals for the PMP exam. These bootcamps typically cover all the topics required for the exam, including the knowledge areas and process groups defined by the PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge). They often include extensive coursework, practice exams, study materials, and sometimes personal coaching. The goal of a PMP Bootcamp is to provide concentrated and focused training to help candidates pass the PMP exam, usually within a timeframe ranging from a few days to a week.
The main benefits of the PMP Bootcamp include:
                    • Several full-length mock tests
                    • It helps you summarize all the chapters
                    • Emphasis on all the important business skills

The curriculum of a PMP Boot Camp course generally includes an in-depth study of the PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) guide, which is the primary reference for the PMP exam. It often covers all the knowledge areas and process groups involved in project management. Additionally, it provides test-taking strategies, practice questions, and simulations of the actual PMP exam to prepare you thoroughly. The course also includes study materials and discussions about real-world applications of project management principles.
Choosing an online PMP Boot Camp can be a good decision due to its flexibility and accessibility. It allows you to learn at your own pace and schedule, removing the need to commute. Furthermore, it provides a structured learning path, often with experienced instructors and interactive sessions, which can greatly aid in preparation for the PMP exam. Plus, it provides opportunities for networking with other professionals globally.
