What is blockchain apart from bitcoin

I am learning blockchain technology and have started few days ago. Every book or blog or documentation explains
blockchain using bitcoin. It is as if blockchain is bitcoin, but i know it isn't. So can anybody tell me what is
blockchain apart from bitcoin?

Blockchain is a decentralized database where the data is stored on multiple nodes.. Here the data is immutable i.e., once it is one the blockchain, it can not be altered or erased.. To know more, go through this link: https://www.edureka.co/community/8173/what-is-blockchain?show=8173#q8173
