How to protect azure databases from accedental resource group deletion?

0 votes

We have a new application in azure and want to be sure that we don't lose the data in azure database. I do understand the backup features, replications and long term storage meets our needs. But, in case a resource group is deleted our backups will also be gone.

Is there any other way to backup in an external storage source. I know there's and export feature too but not sure if it's the best thing to do here.

You can lock the resource to prevent it from being deleted.

Lock can be applied from Azure sql management blade-> Settings-> Lock. Over there you can create a new delete lock.
