While using jenkins with puppet, does puppet explicitly manage/take care of jenkins security? How does this happen? i am using the jenkins module from the puppet forge.

Jenkins security is not managed by puppet unless jenkins::security is defined.

The Jenkins security model can be set to one of two modes:

  • full_control - Users have full control after login. Authentication uses Jenkins' built-in user database.

  • unsecured - Authentication is not required.

For a clear understanding reagrdind creadentials and security, refer: https://forge.puppet.com/rtyler/jenkins/readme#jenkinscliexec
