Highlight active row column in Excel without using VBA

Question

I want to draw attention to the current row or column. I attempted VBA workarounds, but each time the Selection change event is invoked, I lose the ability to undo changes I make to my worksheet.

Is there a non-VBA method to highlight the active row or column?

1. =ROW()=CELL("row")

2. =COLUMN()=CELL("col")
