Filter multiple values on a string column in dplyr

One of the columns in my data.frame contains character data. I'd like to filter the data using multiple choices. a frame derived from the same column Is there a simple way to accomplish this that I'm overlooking?

The filter() function is used to select situations and filter out results depending on filtering criteria.

filter (syntax) (df, condition)

Parameters:

df: Dataframe object

condition: depending on this condition, filtering
