python-ldap provides an object-oriented API to access LDAP directory servers from Python programs.

Debian/Ubuntu:

sudo apt-get install libsasl2-dev python-dev libldap2-dev libssl-dev

RedHat/CentOS:

sudo yum install python-devel openldap-devel
