What is a revision in AWS CodePipeline

I recently started experimenting with AWS CodePipeline. While reading the docs, I came across this word called revision.What does that mean?

A revision is a change made to the source code location defined by your pipeline. it can include source code, build output, configuration, or any kind of data. A pipeline can have multiple revisions.
