What is the meaning of 'errno'?

When I'm trying to call execl(...), I keep getting an errno=2. What does it mean?

you can retrieve a complete list of errno values on your system with the following:

cpp -dM /usr/include/errno.h | grep 'define E' | sort -n -k 3
