When does ElementNotInteractable exception occurs

I have come across a situation wherein when I executed my selenium program, my system threw an exception indicating element not intractable. May I know why this error is thrown?

This Selenium exception is thrown when an element is presented in the DOM but it is impossible to interact with such element.
