Bitminter shows no progress but my system heated up and shutdown

Hi,
I have installed Nicehash but it is not supporting my PC. Also installed bitminter and login it shows connected to bitminter but nothing is happening. I kept my system running bitminter but no progress but my system heated up and shutdown. Why is this happening?

After initialization of bitminter you won't be able to mine bitcoins. But you would be connected to the mining pool. As it takes a humongous amount of computational power to mine a single bitcoin. Please don't mine from your system as it will get overheated. Mining requires specialized hardware and setup. This is why you see no progress in the mining process. It's because a laptop does not have enough computational power.
